Fuddy duddy Karl Lagerfeld surprised by own fame

Designer Karl Lagerfeld, who describes himself as a calm, fuddy duddy and indifferent person, finds it funny that he has become famous despite not being an actor or singer.

"It's quite funny to have managed to become famous despite not being an actor, a singer and not being 15 years old. Not a day goes by where I don't get presents, drawings, dolls from fans," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Lagerfeld as saying.

The Chanel's creative director finds it funny that people like him even after he slammed Duchess of Cambridge's younger sister Pippa Middleton's looks.

"Probably things started with the H&M collection in 2004. I was known before that, of course, but after I wasn't able to cross the street without a bodyguard. People are very nice to me, even though I'm known for saying rude things," he said.

However, the 77-year-old designer insisted he is a naturally easygoing person and never takes himself seriously.

"Calm, fuddy duddy even, indifferent. I'm totally indifferent to unimportant things. I don't mind looking serious, but I don't want to take myself seriously. Some designers take themselves a bit too seriously, don't they," he added. (Source)

Katie Holmes enjoyed beach lunch with Suri Cruise

Actress Katie Holmes enjoyed weekend with daughter Suri Cruise and other family members.

They had lunch at Summer Kitchen Cafe.

"Everyone looked like they were having a great time," people.com quoted a staffer as saying.

"Holmes had a chicken salad and the table was drinking iced tea. There was a lot of laughing. Suri was really polite and so well-behaved," the staffer added.

According to a source, "Madonna bought premium tickets to the gala and was planning to take toyboy lover Brahim Zaibat. But Lourdes begged her not to come."

Rihanna opens European tour in Spain

Rihanna awed and captivated a devoted audience at the BEC arena in the northern Spanish city of Barakaldo with a show that had fans dancing and singing along at what was the first European concert of her Diamonds World Tour.

The singer from Barbados staged her show for close to 15,000 fans Sunday night.

Rihanna kicked off the evening with "Mother Mary" and went on to perform songs from her latest disc "Unapologetic," along with some of her previous greatest hits.

The singer got the audience up and dancing, above all with her best-known numbers like "Umbrella", "Only Girl (In The World)" and "Don't Stop The Music".

Is Chris Brown headed for jail?

If Chris Brown's alleged hit-and-run is found to have violated the terms of his 2009 battery case on Rihanna, the rapper could face up to four years behind bars.

According to the 24-year-old singer, he did nothing wrong when he was involved in a minor accident last week, claiming that the other driver is ducking attempts to discuss the matter, TMZ.com has reported.

He allegedly had refused to give his driver's license number and provided wrong insurance information to the driver of a Mercedes he rear-ended, which, if found true, could put his probation in the earlier case in jeopardy.

Sources close to him said that Brown gave the woman all the correct information but when his lawyer tried to call her up, she hung up on him; subsequent calls to her have gone unanswered. (Source)
