Men are more likely to underestimate their weight as compared to women

Men are more likely to guess they are thinner as compared to women, who believe they are overweight, a new survey suggests.

According to a new online project from The Guardian in the UK, men are more likely to underestimate their weight than women, the New York Daily News reported.

Men are more than twice as likely as women to think they are slimmer than they actually are.

As part of an interactive project, more than 300,000 people entered their height and weight into the website, which launched last month.

All participants were asked in advance to select which category they would fall into - underweight, healthy, overweight, obese, or morbidly obese.

Almost one in four men said they were at least one category thinner than they actually were.

For women, however, 27 percent thought they weighed more than they did, compared to just 12 percent of men.

Women "are more influenced by images of thin women shown across the media, are more worried and aware about their health, or could be tied to a myriad of other factors," the newspaper wrote.

Meanwhile, the men, by not being cognizant of their weight, are putting themselves at risk of a host of health problems, they wrote. (Source)

'Harry Potter' actor Richard Griffiths dies at 65

British actor Richard Griffiths, who featured in the 'Harry Potter' films, has died after complications following heart surgery. He was 65.

Griffiths was best known for playing Vernon Dursley in the successful franchise 'Harry Potter' and Uncle Monty in 'Withnail and I,' the BBC reported.

His Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe - who also appeared on stage with him in 'Equus' - was one of the first to pay tribute to him, saying that Griffiths was by his side during two of the most important moments of his career and he was proud to know him.

Radcliffe said that any room that Griffiths walked into was made twice as funny and twice as clever just by his presence.

Griffiths' most acclaimed performance on stage was the role of the charismatic teacher Hector in Alan Bennett's 'The History Boys.'

Well respected by his peers, Griffiths had been appointed an OBE in the 2008 New Year Honours for his services to drama.

One of his most recent roles was in the drama 'Private Peaceful,' where he played The Colonel alongside Frances de la Tour and Maxine Peake. (Source)

Indian Premier League miffed by Jennifer Lopez's diva demands

Hollywood actress-singer Jennifer Lopez reportedly got herself axed from an Indian Premier League (IPL) gig to perform for 60 million viewers when she gave the organisers a long list of unessential demands.

The 43-year-old insisted on a private plane and dozens of hotel rooms for her huge entourage, including her stylists, assistants and chef, reports thesun.co.uk.

Disgusted officials who wanted to book her for the opening ceremony of the IPL cricket tournament instead signed up rapper Pitbull for Tuesday's event.

"The demands were outrageous. She effectively priced herself out of the event. It was idiotic because the audience for this event is huge," said the source.

Egomaniac Bieber forces his videos on entourage

Pop star Justin Bieber has reportedly become an egomaniac as now he doesn't have ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez to keep him grounded. He reportedly makes his entourage watch his videos over and over again.

The 19-year-old broke up with actress Gomez earlier this year, and without her guidance he hasn't been able to keep himself grounded, according to a report in femalefirst.co.uk.

A source revealed how Bieber has been reliving his 2011 appearance as the host on "Saturday Night Live" by replaying the tape along with his own videos to his entourage on the tour bus.

"It's so awkward. I mean Bieber did a good job on the show, but no one wants to watch it again and again," femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source as saying.

"He makes us watch the videos again and again, but no one says anything. Gomez used to tell him what was up and it must have helped keep him grounded, because since they broke up his ego is out of control," the source added.

The source said that the 19-year-old doesn't act quite as cocky when he's around people he respects, but his entourage don't want to speak out.

"He never pulls that kind of stuff when Jayden Smith or someone else he respects is there, but when it's just his people on the bus he does it," the source said.

"He does the same thing with his videos. He'll have them running on a loop, and then when he sees a part he loves, he stops and rewinds it and makes everyone watch," the source added. (Source)

'Blue Peter' star Skelton blasts former boss

TV series "Blue Peter" star Helen Skelton reportedly called her ex-boss a bully in a fiery radio interview Friday.

The 29-year-old TV presenter said Alex Leger, 65, pushed the show's hosts to the limit with his daredevil demands.

But Leger, who was on "Radio 4-Woman's Hour", a BBC programme with Skelton, laughed off her remarks and insisted he was just being a persistent boss.

"Leger, you push people till they break and you know it," thesun.co.uk quoted Skelton as saying.

"Leger - it's funny we call him a bully, in the best possible way - but he and I did a film which involved me taking on a beard of bees. My face was stung and swollen. And afterwards, do you remember, Leger, you came over and you said, 'The office wonder if we should do it again as they only went over your chest and neck and didn't quite cover your face'", added Skleton.

Leger, who produced the BBC's flagship kids' programme for 36 years said "I think I was joking."

But Skelton said: "I don't think you were."

The show's present host, Jenni Murray, also told Leger: "From what Skelton was saying, you were a bit of a bully and you did make them do horrible things."
