Justin Timberlake beats David Bowie in UK chart

Justin Timberlake's album, 'The 20/20 Experience' has gone straight to the top of the UK chart, knocking David Bowie's comeback LP off the summit.

This is the third solo album of Timberlake, the BBC reported.

But Timberlake's song Mirrors has lost the top spot and dropped to number 2 spot in the singles chart.

It got replaced by The Saturdays' What About Us, the girl group's first number one after five years of trying.

Meanwhile, Timberlake's album sold almost 106,000 copies - more than the rest of the top five combined.

Elsewhere on the album chart, Emeli Sande is still at number three with Our Version of Events, while the soundtrack to Les Miserables has gone back up to number four.

According to the Official Charts Company, other new entries include British indie survivors Suede at 10 with Bloodsports and singer-songwriter Billy Bragg at 13 with Tooth and Nail,. (Source)

American designer sues Yoko Ono for copying her designs

A Brooklyn fashion designer has filed a lawsuit against Yoko Ono, claiming she ripped off her wacky new clothing line and tried to pass it off as her own.

Haleh Nematzadeh claimed John Lennon's 80-year-old widow's design team saw sketches of her women's line before tweaking it and selling the knockoffs online, the New York Post reported.

Nematzadeh, who owns the Bushwick-based clothing firm Smashing Starlets, said she met with photographers working for Opening Ceremony, a retailer that now sells Ono's fashion line, in July hoping to get images of her Gonna Walk the Night collection in the store's catalog.

The fotogs were supposed to meet Nematzadeh for a shoot but instead teamed up with Ono's designers, who altered the garments into a men's line without permission, the designer claimed.

On Opening Ceremony's Web site, Ono says her fashion line - which features nipple holes and handprints on crotches - is a tribute to her late Beatle hubby's hot body.

"I was inspired to create Fashion for Men, [because I was] amazed at how my man was looking so great. I felt it was a pity if we could not make clothes emphasizing his very sexy bod," it reads.

But Nematzadeh's suit, filed in Brooklyn federal court Friday, calls Ono's statement a "feeble attempt" to claim the designs as her own.

"She's trying to put fetish in context, but since when does fetish and John Lennon go together?" she said.

"When you think of the Beatles, you think of doves and trees, not that," she added. (Source)

Ego fights led to final break up of `Girls Aloud`

Girls Aloud has recently come under the spotlight again in the wake of their split and sources have revealed that the group fell victim to the tons of cat fights between the members.

According to the sources close to the pop girl group, Britain's best loved bands put on a brave face when they threw a farewell party during the week, despite the fighting and battle of egos that led to the end, the Daily Star reported.

The latest fight to rock the chart-topping band erupted when Cheryl Cole and Nicola Roberts declared they were through with the group for good, but stunned Nadine Coyle and Kimberly Walsh demanded the door be left open for a return and new album within two years.

An insider revealed that it was really dramatic and there were a lot of tears as Coyle and Cole were both fighting their corner and nobody was prepared to budge.

Coyle was accusing 29-year-old Cole of being selfish and saying she was trying to control everything and ruining their futures in the music business, behind her back, the source said.

The insider added that she was also complaining that she didn't get paid enough for the tour and should have got at least double the money for doing all the lead vocals night after night.

Sources added that Cole though it was nonsense and they only ever agreed to get back together for an anniversary tour and then leave it at that, but she thinks Coyle is just thinking of herself because her solo career failed.

Sources say Coyle's tweet that the split was not her choice was an act of revenge against Cole. (Source)

Beyonce has cut me out of her life, says 'hurt' dad Mathew Knowles

Beyonce's father Mathew Knowles has opened up about his bitter rift with his famous daughter, admitting he is devastated at being pushed out of her life.

In an exclusive interview with the Sun, the former manager also rubbished claims that he mismanaged the singer's finances when he was in charge of her career, the Sun reported.

Although the decision to separate was mutual, the 61-year-old insists that he is extremely sad that Beyonce has cut him out of her life.

The Grandfather has also reportedly yet to meet his granddaughter Blue Ivy, who was born last year.

The record producer said that she didn't let him go but both of us to let each other go and let's be clear on that.

Speaking from his office in Houston, Texas, he added that it was not a normal ending of a business agreement as this was a dad and a daughter and it was incredibly painful and it had some difficulties. (Source)

Separation with Beyonce was difficult, says father

Singer Beyonce Knowles' father Mathew Knowles says it was difficult for him to let his daughter go post their fallout.

"Normally I hate to talk about anything personal, but it would be a lie if I did not say it has been difficult," said Mathew, who was managing Beyonce's finances but is said to have gone wrong with them.

The decision to walk in opposite directions was mutual, reports thesun.co.uk.

"It was hard for me to let her go. It was hard for both of us to let each other go. And let's be clear on that. She didn't let me go, we both let each other go. That's a big difference," he added.

Mathew, 61, says ending of a very close relationship was painful but he looks at it in a positive way.

"This was not a normal ending of a business agreement. This was a dad and a daughter, and it was incredibly painful and difficult. But I try to always have a positive mind about things and you got to do it the right way," he said.

Beyonce is married to singer Jay Z and has about a year-old daughter Blue Ivy with him. (Source)
